On 27-29 September the 2019 Blancpain GT Series will conclude at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya when a three-hour contest brings the curtain down on the overall and Endurance Cup championships.

The Am Cup championship was effectively decided at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, with Leonid Machitski and Adrian Amstutz whowrapped up the title with the final round at Barcelona still to go.

For the past two seasons, Barwell Motorsport, Machitski and Amstutz have claimed back-to-back Blancpain GT Series Endurance Am Cup titles. These incredibly successful campaigns have included a win at the Spa 24 Hours and three other race victories during the last two years.

Vimetco Extrusion and Renaissance Construction backed #77 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO with Leonid Machitski and Adrian Amstutz will be re-joined for the event by Miguel Ramos, who could seal runner-up spot at the finale despite skipping Spa.

A 48-car field will tackle the 4.65km Spanish venue, which is set to stage the annual finale for the fourth year in succession. A popular season-ending destination for teams and drivers alike, the event also draws considerable local support as fans come to cheer on a strong contingent of Spanish drivers.

The weekend will follow the usual schedule for Endurance Cup events. Following paid testing on Friday morning, the first official session will take place later in the day when the 60-minute bronze test begins at 17:00. A 90-minute free practice will follow on Saturday morning at 10:20, with pre-qualifying at 15:05 providing the same amount of track time.

As ever, the main action will be staged during a busy Sunday. Qualifying will go green at 09:30, setting the grid for the afternoon’s deciding three-hour race, scheduled to get underway at 15:00.

Leonid Machitski: “Well, it’s Spain, it’s September and the weather is very nice! It’s a very good end of the season race. Barcelona is a fast track that has a nice rhythm to it. It’s not my favorite one but it’s a good and challenging circuit. It has a lot of blind long corners. Sometimes it’s confusing and you don’t understand where you are exactly because the turn is so long. I look forward to start the final round of the Blancpain GT Series calendar”.
