The final round of the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS is just two days away, where Leonid Machitski will return to action together with Barwell Motorsport for a six-hour contest at the Paul Ricard, which brings the curtain down on the overall and Endurance Cup championships.

Originally scheduled for 28-29 May, the long-running event retains its 1000km format to wrap up an ultra-competitive championship that remains too close to call. What’s more, it will represent the 50th Endurance Cup race staged since the series was launched at Monza in 2011.

It comes three weeks after the Total 24 Hours of Spa, where Leonid Machitski added another of the ‘big ones’ to his roll of honours as he proudly took a triumphant win at the Total 24 Hours of Spa with teammates Sandy Mitchell, Rob Collard and Ricky Collard. Machitski was also the first Russian driver past the finishing line.

This is a very close-fought contest, with Leonid, Sandy and Rob sit third in the Pro-Am Championship, a mere seven points behind the joint leaders.

The grid will be set during qualifying at 17:20 CET on Saturday, while the 1000km race will get underway on Sunday at 11:45 CET.
